custom cedar gable accents done today, cornice almost complete

yeah! progress. the custom cedar gable accents are in place, cornice is almost done, just need a little board and batten on the front porch area.  should have the rest done tomorrow, brick will be going on in a week or so, we have decided on Old Chicago reclaimed brick!!!

tomorrow i believe the framers will be coming to make some alterations, fix some things that were not quite right and then the low voltage guys can come and inspections can start. very excited about this. The builder, Shawn with Alleanza Homes and the architect Todd Rice have done an amazing job. the house exterior has so many details that set it apart from every other home in Garden Oaks. We are very lucky to be working with such a group. make sure you visit shawn's facebook page www.facebook.com/alleanzacustomhomes

here are some pics of the exterior.

Metal Roof is finally done and Pella Delay cost us one week.

The metal roof is finally done, started friday and finished saturday. looks great.

Pella windows were originally delivered the friday before Memorial Day, half of them did not open all of the way, they were defective.  Pella Houston picked them up a few days later as we could not take them out at the time, our cornice people needed them in the house to do the cornice work. upon completion of most of the cornice the windows were removed and picked up by Pella for repair. The windows were repaired and delivered back to our home 2 days later functional. Unfortunately, their delivery driver was careless  and the windows became scratched, broken glass and very damaged looking. We had to reorder. the windows were just re-delivered on thursday.  Tomorrow, Monday is the day that the cornice team will be able to come back and install the windows, and finish the cornice work. The house should really start to look even more amazing than it already looks. The window mess really required some fancy scheduling by Shawn, our builder with Alleanza Custom Homes. we only had a couple of days with nothing going on, which was really amazing considering windows are a definite road block.

We have the colors selected, main color is called soft pumice, with accent color of chocolate chunk, and trim is called whisper. Next decision is the brick, i am going with an antique reclaimed brick, either "Old Chicago" or "Old Massachusetts"  I am leaning toward the Old Massachusetts with the more pink color rather than the old chicago with the more buff color, think it will go with the house color a little better, although i LOVE the old chicago brick.

here is a pic of the color palette.

after Monday, the house should really start to look great. once windows are in, the low voltage guys can come and run the low voltage along with the alarm wires in the windows. then inspection, then insulation goes in, then inspection, then i think we get to do sheetrock! i have already started making lighting selections trying to keep the house very modern craftsman with some filament bulbs.
