we are getting close-----

the dumpster is gone so we can actually see the entire front of the house now and it is almost finished. driveway will be poured hopefully on Tuesday!  we need the last set of 4 brackets stained and then the outside will just be short of driveway, sprinkler and landscaping.

i am waiting on one light fixture in the downstairs bathroom other than that, lighting is complete. we are waiting on doorknobs, which suffered a setback today with another delay, so i am on the prowl for new door knobs. all of the bathroom accessories arrived today so once we have doorknobs, the trim guys come back and install everything. i cant wait to see the kitchen pulls put on the white cabinets, i am hoping it is a winner.

here are a few shots of the inside and the exterior lighting.

the utility sink faucet was installed this week as well, here is a shot of the utility room  with the rocas azul limestone countertops, white extra deep sink and the gooseneck pull our sprayer faucet.

and jeremy's nerd photo, the network hub of the house is located in the utility room. looks like a messy wire area to me... he assures me that it is neat.

and last, another shot of my antique doors that were refinished and look absolutely amazing in this mud-room and utility area.

weekly update

we had a lot happen this week. tile and countertops are finished, plumbing fixtures were installed and last night, lighting was installed. here are a few pics from this week.

kitchen island is black with a pure white Nano Glass. a brand new technology that is so amazing and looks absolutely beautiful.

backsplash was installed. it is a oversized beveled subway tile. hand glazed in spain and looks so great. we did the delorean gray grout

master bath has square kohler sinks with chrome danze widespread cross handled faucets. two sinks on the black master bath vanity with carrera marble countertops.

master shower is vertically installed porcelain tile in a light gray color.

downstairs secondary bath is for guest suite as well as the "public" use restroom downstairs. black vanity and wrought  iron colored moen faucets. floor is graphite gray and the shower is the light gray color run horizontally.

master  step in oversized shower

upstairs bath, oversized two sink vanity with alabaster white vanity, plenty of storage, danze chrome faucet.

upstairs shower, white subway tile, with delorean gray grout, arched ceiling is also covered with the subway tile. chrome danze tub spout and shower.

stain was finished and looks amazing, large timber beam overhead, handrails, mantle and doors are all stained the same color, english chestnut.

oversized gooseneck pull out spray faucet in stainless color with an oversized Blanco brand single basin sink. the sink it is made of silgranite, 80% granite super non-porous and no middle divider making stacking of pots and pans easy during cooking. very scratch and stain resistant.

my last blog post showed most of the lighting but i am just so excited that it actually has light and is so amazing looking with the coffered ceiling and the can lights inside each square and the oversized fan looks amazing and space worthy.

the oversized park place pendant from minka lavery is jeremy's favorite light. i must say, it does look incredible and provides such great light over the island for cooking, the under cabinet lights are xenon lights not fluorescent lights so it is a really clean light.

i am using edison bulbs in the lighting, where i did mostly clear glass to really show off the edison bulb theme.

view of dining room linen rectangular pendant and the two glass sconces with edison bulbs. i cant wait to find an amazing rectangular dining room table to put underneath it.

the exterior can lights are great for illuminating the entire house, and they are all on an automatic switch that has our GPS locator  so they come on automatically at dusk.

tile has started

tile started today, they started in the showers with the light gray color. we are using 12x24 porcelain tiles in two different shades of matte gray. so far the light gray looks amazing on the shower walls and i am hoping the the graphite gray looks amazing on the floors when they start those tomorrow.

master shower has the 12x24 running vertically with the light gray barcelona II porcelain tile
tub deck is also in the light gray 12x24 tile, the floor will be the darker graphite gray

upstairs bath has an arched ceiling, the tile is a white gloss traditional subway tile that will extend onto the ceiling in the shower. the grout is going to be a light gray and should provide a nice contrast and tie into the graphite gray flooring.

downstairs guest bath has the 12x24 light gray color, running horizontally with a bench seat

they are still working now, and will be at it again tomorrow at 8am. hoping to see showers complete today and flooring starting tomorrow.

on a personal note, i have decided that it is september and it is still too hot to exercise, i am officially taking the "summer" off from exercise, since i have not exercised since july anyway! i will start exercising again when the temperature is under 89 when i get home from work. i know, excuses excuses!

paint is almost done and stain too- tile is starting

hey there! the paint is done, except for final touch ups at the end. The stain is started and they will be continuing their staining tomorrow inside and out. the english chestnut color looks terrific with the old chicago brick, the soft pumice blue/gray and the chocolate chunk brown shingles. check it out.

the interior colors are done and i think they look terrific, the main color is nomadic taupe, the dining room is china clay and the ceiling inserts are rhinoceros. the stain on the timber beams looks incredible and i cant wait to see how it all comes together with the countertops next week. Selected Rocas Azul limestone countertops, nano glass white island in the kitchen.

today they laid the tile in the master bath and closet and it was the wrong tile, so they had to pull it all up, so hopefully tomorrow we will be ready to roll and really get some progress with the tile tomorrow.
